artlook^® is an innovative online platform that provides the tools, information, and insights that help arts education changemakers do what they do better, together. artlook^® helps schools and community partners connect, lets private funders understand the reach of their investments, and creates a powerful tool for advocates that informs policy discussions locally and beyond.

Planned, designed, and developed in close coordination with Chicago’s arts educators, artlook^® provides information on everything from which art teachers and arts partners are in which schools to what arts programming, coursework, and minutes of instruction is happening where. artlook^® even provides critical information on what schools need as well as downloadable customized fact sheets and data files based on advanced searches.

The Data

Our goal is to help ensure that every student, in every grade, in every school has access to quality arts programming. artlook® helps make that happen by putting an unprecedented collection of information in the hands of teachers, principals, arts agencies, cultural institutions, foundations, corporations, and policymakers.

School Portal

Schools update their profiles with information on arts staffing, courses and minutes of instruction, in-school and out-of-school arts programming offered, and partnerships with outside arts organizations. Schools are also able to share with their local arts education community exactly what kind of arts education experiences their students crave.

Partner Portal

Partner profiles provide an opportunity for community organizations that support arts education to share their accomplishments–and to be found by others so they can build on those accomplishments. By maintaining a profile that accurately describes their organization, its school partnerships, and the arts education programs they offer, arts partners can expand their reach.

artlook®Educator

Launched in the 2021-22 school year, this social media site is for CPS arts teachers across the district. It can be accessed within artlook, and is a place to connect with fellow arts educators, share resources, ask questions, and join conversations about high quality arts teaching and learning.
