Join Constellation Resident Michael Rangel of SkyArt in this workshop designed to provide teaching artists, art educators, administrators and teachers with the tools to understand and begin to address the impact art-making has on youth when we allow for it to be a source of healing. Art in and of itself is therapeutic; however, what happens when we do not have the clinical or therapeutic abilities to properly support the student through participation in art-making that engages them in potentially traumatic and difficult conversations and experiences? Though our goal may be to allow space for discussion and a release of challenging emotions or situations, there is the possibility our art-making can cause high emotional responses and reactions.
