September 9 – 13, 2024

On July 26, 2010, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution designating the second week of September as Arts in Education Week to highlight the immense role of arts education in producing engaged, successful, and college- and career-ready students. This week, communities nationwide are coming together to recognize the profound impact of arts education on the lives of students.

Celebrate the arts in Chicago Public Schools classrooms this week by taking action:

Advocate for arts education: Use this week as a platform to influence decision-makers. You can sign a petition regarding arts education policy or submit an op-ed to your local newspaper.

Share your personal stories on social media: Help raise awareness about the importance of arts education using hashtags like #ArtsEdWeek and #BecauseOfArtsEd to highlight how arts education has impacted your life or the lives of others.

Let’s come together to celebrate and advocate for arts education, and ensure it remains a vital component of our educational landscape. For more details, refer to the Americans for the Arts’ Arts in Education Week partner packet and visit www.NationalArtsInEducationWeek.org.
