The State of the Arts: Education Convening 2024 serves as a pivotal gathering for stakeholders in the Chicago arts education community.

The event is designed to foster innovation and collaboration, while exploring the future of what Chicago Public Schools arts education could be in our shared commitment to ensuring equitable access to high-quality arts education for every student, in every grade, at every CPS school.

Attendees will delve into the latest findings of the ‘22-23 State of the Arts report, offering valuable insights into the evolving landscape of arts education within CPS. Following the presentation, sector-specific speakers and panelists will lead a dynamic discussion on the challenges and opportunities at hand in arts education.

To conclude, César Torruella, Executive Director of Arts Education at Chicago Public Schools, will outline ‘25-26 priorities aligned with CPS’ strategic plan, and share an exciting announcement on how district partners and advocates can help shape the future for public arts education.
