Data Snapshot: Arts Partnerships - Before and After the Pandemic explores the challenges that were faced by arts partners during the COVID-19 pandemic school years. It details what the common characteristics were among arts organizations that had school partners in 2018-19 but no longer in 2020-21, while also exploring such data as whether partners served fewer or more schools, what artistic disciplines they provided, and how we can use this data to build back partnership numbers.

Kuumba Lynx

Grant Amount: 9,640

Kuumba Lynx will support Academy for Global Citizenshipâ€™s performing arts curriculum in middle school. Kuumba Lynx will work with 6th-8th graders weekly to explore the world of slam poetry and spoken word with the goal of fostering self-expression. Students will participate in Â½ Pint Poetics, a Spoken Word & Poetry Writing project that engages students in arts making & learning so to increase their literacy skills all while encouraging cross-cultural competency, and youth dialogue through civic engagement. After the residency, students will work together to curate an open mic for the AGC school community where students, teachers and even parents can participate.
