We’re thrilled to share an update on our journey since the Equity Action Plan launched in October 2022! Ingenuity has been deliberate in its pursuit of real, lasting change from the inside out.

We’ve engaged in meaningful dialogue and staff training, defining clear priorities for the upcoming fiscal year, further reinforcing our unwavering commitment to equity as we move into the next phases.

During these sessions, we engaged in a collaborative process to assess our progress and sharpen our focus on Goals 1 (Shared Leadership Structures) and 3 (Inclusivity & Belonging)—areas we know will have the most significant impact in the coming year. Additionally, we’ve identified Goal 5 (People & Culture) as a top priority for the future.

A key outcome was defining what Shared Leadership means at Ingenuity. This clarity lays a strong foundation for our collaborative work, ensuring alignment and empowerment across the team.

Below are highlights of our progress since the inception of the Equity Action Plan. Together, we’re not just advancing our mission—we’re cultivating a genuinely inclusive and equitable environment at Ingenuity.

  • Developed a comprehensive definition of Shared Leadership, incorporating team feedback to enhance collaboration.
  • Created a Strategy Screen to guide decision-making at Ingenuity and align with organizational goals.
  • Executed the Gallup Clifton Strengths Assessment, resulting in an Ingenuity Talent Map that leverages team strengths for high performance.
  • Launched a personalized employee coaching initiative to support individual development and performance enhancement.
  • Facilitated an employee-led, organization-wide training on accessibility in partnership with Access Living.
  • Initiated a recruiting plan focused on racial diversity, aiming to minimize bias in the hiring process.
  • Continuously assessed diversity within leadership roles and across all hiring processes.
  • Established a new, bias-free job posting and interview process in collaboration with our HR team.
  • Formed a partnership with the Walker Thomas Group (WTG) for outsourced HR support and EAP implementation.
  • Collaborating with WTG to enhance HR processes across multiple initiatives to strengthen organizational effectiveness.

As we celebrate our milestones, we are acutely aware of the ambitious goals we’ve set for ourselves. Achieving Goals 2 and 4 will require extra time, focus, and our collective determination to drive transformative change.

Our commitment to equity is unshakeable, and we are fiercely dedicated to making a meaningful impact. Let’s keep the momentum going!

Sincerely,

Nicole Upton
