Data Snapshot: Arts Partnerships - Before and After the Pandemic explores the challenges that were faced by arts partners during the COVID-19 pandemic school years. It details what the common characteristics were among arts organizations that had school partners in 2018-19 but no longer in 2020-21, while also exploring such data as whether partners served fewer or more schools, what artistic disciplines they provided, and how we can use this data to build back partnership numbers.

Forward Momentum Chicago

Grant Amount: 10,000

Forward Momentum Chicago provides dance instruction in schools and communities with limited arts access. The program will provide dance instruction to 1st through 6th grade students, linking said instruction to the cultural contributions of people of African descent from around the globe. students will receive dance instruction, music instruction, and humanities instruction based on a specified person of African descent that will be the focus for each particular classroom. Students will also perform a culminating international dance performance for the school community that incorporates the global contributions of people of African descent, music linked to these people, and choreography that ties it all together.
